What We Offer

Hope Yoga & Meditation specializes in trauma-informed, beginner-friendly, inclusive, accessible, and non-appropriated meditation and movement/yoga classes. Our intention is to meet our students where they are and provide a safe and supportive environment to learn new skills and tools as part of their healing or spiritual journey. We concentrate on developing class content specifically for people who may have lived experiences with trauma, addictions, mental health issues, and for bodies that may look or move a little differently than others.

Meditation can be practiced sitting on the floor, in a chair, laying down, or even standing, walking, or dancing. It can be quiet contemplation, guided story-telling, breath work, music-led, or movement-based. The yoga offered in our classes is simple and accessible to all body shapes, types, and sizes, and is meant to be a compliment to the meditation practice.

We use Buddhist philosophies combined with Yogic philosophies to guide all of our sessions. Classes may start with a short dharma talk or meditation, have discussion or information spread throughout asana practice, or may end with a reading or meditation. All registered classes explain what will happen during class, and any private sessions are driven by client want and need.

We work to keep our prices affordable so as not to exclude anyone from the benefits of these teachings - we offer many classes by donation and offer multiple payment options to fit varied financial conditions - see About Our Prices below for more information.

If you are interested in booking us for a private class for an organization or group, please send us an email.

Who We Are

First, in the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge that we live, work and play on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Iyarhe Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3), and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta. We also acknowledge and embrace the roots of yoga, first practiced in India over 5000 years ago. We are honoured to live and work within these deep traditions, and strive to centre our work in a way that does not appropriate nor cause further harm.
